8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course for a Security Guard

This is the 1st course you must take. This is an 8 hour course required by New York State as the first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the New York State Department of State. The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course.

16-Hour On-The-Job Training Course for a Security Guard

This is the 2nd course you need to take. This is a 16 hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. The course provides the student with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command system, and terrorism. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course.

8-Hour Annual In-Service Training Course for a Security Guard

This is an 8 hour course that must be completed within 12 calendar months from completion of the 16 Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards, and annually thereafter. The course is structured to provide the student with updated and enhanced information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, and ethics and conduct.

This 7 hour course includes National Safety Council certification for CPR / AED and Basic First Aid (6 hours) and Fire Prevention and Safety instruction (1 hour including test). Fire Prevention and Safety includes:

• Causes of fires
• Proper storage of various materials
• Sounding the alarm
• Protect yourself
• Identification of: extinguishers, causes of fires, use of extinguishers and first aid.

8-Hour Pre-Assignment with CPR/AED and Basic First Aid and Fire Prevention and Safety Training

This 15 hour course includes the 8 hour Pre-Assignment course, National Safety Council certification for CPR/ AED and Basic First Aid and Fire Prevention and Safety instruction.

8-Hour Pre-Assignment with CPR/AED, Basic First Aid , Fire Prevention and Safety Training and BeLearning modules 1 &2 with 2 mentoring sessions

This 12 hour course covers basic knowledge of green cleaning including: sustainability, climate change, national resources, environmental protection, codes and standards, sustainable products and hands on facility maintenance activities covering pollution prevention, waste management and indoor air quality. Day one outlines the benefits to green cleaning, safety, general tools, techniques, demonstration and hands on training of an office environment. Day two will cover bathroom and kitchen cleaning with demonstration and hands on training. Day three will provide a detailed look into the specifics of carpet and floor care such as extraction and spot removal, demonstration and hands on training. This course meets the requirements approved by the Office of General Services

Fundamentals of Green Cleaning with Janitorial and Fire Safety Training

This offers the basic 12 hour Fundamentals of Green Cleaning class and includes an additional 17 hours of basic janitorial instruction which will include: ground rules for custodians, blood borne pathogens, office cleaning, floor and carpet cleaning and preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Fundamentals of Green Cleaning with Janitorial, Fire Safety Training and BeLearning Modules 1 &2 with 2 mentoring sessions

BeLearning is an innovative, interactive teaching process designed to provide online, as well as classroom instruction to help employees develop and increase their skills in the workplace. BeLearning provides lessons that build employee confidence and outline key concepts for being successful in the workplace. The lessons include activities and videos that reinforce the concepts and tests to determine if the learner understands the concepts. Participants will have access to the modules for two months, each module take an hour to complete.
